End Date: September 2, 2013
Jewish Voice Ministries is taking a team of medical and prayer volunteers in 2012 to Woliso, Addis Ababa, and Gondar, Ethiopia, and to a new location in Zimbabwe to minister to the Beta Israel, Beta Avraham, Gefat, and Lemba Jewish communities respectively. These Jewish communities are considered the Lost Tribes of Israel. We offer free medical, dental, and eye clinics plus spiritual nourishment through sharing the Gospel of Yeshua.
Gerald Gotzen, a respected world-renowned authority who has worked with Ethiopian Jews for 45 years and who partners with a Jewish Voice-supported ministry in Addis Ababa, notes that there are some 10,000 Ethiopian Jews remaining in Gondar and some 2,500 in Addis Ababa. “These are Jews in dire need,” adds Jewish Voice’s CEO, Jonathan Bernis. “They are not welcome in Israel because they are labeled as Christians, and they are shunned by their Ethiopian neighbors because of their Jewish identity. They have been abandoned by the world, but not forgotten by God."
Jewish Voice is committed to doing everything possible to help these people until they can return to Israel or the Lord returns.

Geography
Zimbabwe is a landlocked country located in the southern part of the African continent. The capital city is Harare. Victoria Falls, one of the world's biggest waterfalls, is in the northwest. The climate is tropical with a rainy season from late October to March.
Jewish People Group
Following our first-ever medical outreach to Zimbabwe in June 2012, where we witnessed 5,791 precious Lemba of Mposi, Zimbabwe, receive Yeshua as their Messiah, we established a new Messianic congregation, identifying and training new leaders through the joint efforts of Jewish Voice and the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute (MJBI). Through a dramatic series of events, the chief of the Mposi Lemba had a personal revelation of Yeshua as his Messiah, and because of that, doors to proclaim the Gospel and disciple the Lemba have continued to open. In 2013, we are heading back to Mberengwa. Make history again with us as we minister through medicine and the Gospel of Yeshua and see many more Lemba come to know their Messiah!
Medical/Spiritual Care
Our mission at Jewish Voice would not be complete without offering spiritual care to the Lemba of Zimbabwe. God often completes the work He started in our medical, dental, and eye clinics by showing up in miraculous ways to further heal these Jewish People through our team of intercessors. It’s not enough that we offer medical care and compassion; we also offer these Jewish People the chance to make Yeshua their Messiah. That’s the most important aspect of this short-term trip.

Jewish People Group
The Beta Israel (“House of Israel”), a displaced Jewish community living in deplorable conditions, are the key Lost Tribe of Israel that Jewish Voice seeks to bring medical care and prayer to on these short-term medical mission trips.
Many Beta Israel have been refugees since 1991, when the airlifts of Operation Solomon flew their relatives to Israel and left them behind. Many were actually left on the runway when they were identified as members of families that had undergone a conversion to Orthodox Christianity! Those left continue to patiently wait, still hoping someday to go to Israel.
They remain a shunned people, called “Falash Mura,” a derogatory term which means outcasts, wanderers, sojourners. Their neighbors abhor them and their community leaders in Israel have turned their backs to them, urging Israeli leaders to not allow them to come to Israel for fear that they will try to proselytize the Ethiopian Community living there.
Medical/Spiritual Care
Beyond offering free medical, dental, and eye clinics to the Jewish People in Gondar, Ethiopia, Jewish Voice offers an onsite Prayer Room, where these lost but not forgotten Jewish People can find healing directly from the God of their forefathers, encouragement, and prayer to receive Yeshua as their personal Messiah.

Join us for another medical mission to the Lemba tribe of Zimbabwe, a Jewish community that boasts an impressive 400,000 members spanning several countries in southern Africa. The Lemba are Yemenite Jews, identified as Cohanim, or descendants of Aaron the Priest.
