As the rockets of Hamas continued to target Israeli citizens, Israel's security cabinet turned down the United Nations Security Council cease fire resolution and stated they will continue "to bring about change in the security situation" in Gaza. Israel defense forces will continue to target the weapons, locations and supply lines that Hamas is using to attack innocent Israeli civilians will be neutralized and eliminated. Bottom line: as long as Hamas fires on Israeli citizens, the Israel will defend the lives of the Jewish people.
Commenting on Gaza actions in light of international pressure to given in to Hamas, Israel Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said "Israel has acted, is acting and will act only according to its considerations, the security needs of its citizens and its right to self-defense."
In the midst of the Hamas provoked damages to Gaza, the Israel diplomatic-security cabinet pledged to continue giving humanitarian aid to Gaza citizens and use temporary cease fires to allow relief staff to deliver food and medical care.
Terrorist leaders in Hamas also rejected the U.N.'s resolution, focusing on the United States choosing to abstain in the United Nation's vote to approve the resolution.
Israel newspaper Haaretz reports exiled Hamas deputy Moussa Abu Marzouk stated that the U.S. "want... to give the enemy (Israel) more time. But I assure you that they will not achieve any of their goals and they will withdraw in disappointment and they will be defeated."
This response from Hamas assures the failure of almost any cease fire truce in the near future. They will continue to base their terrorist attacks on Jewish citizens from the homes and neighborhoods of Gaza civilians and use these same Palestinian people as human shields against Israel's ground forces.
