THE “CEASEFIRE” OF 2008: 2,900 ROCKETS FIRED AT ISRAEL!

As the fragile “ceasefire” agreement with the armed Palestinian groups in Gaza was due to expire, a statistical analysis proved it to be a fraud. If you were a resident of Sderot in southern Israel, suffering under the continuous attacks and air raid sirens, you would ask, “what ceasefire?”

In fact, 2008 saw an increase of over 1,000 rockets and mortars fired at southern Israeli homes over previous years.

As 2008 was coming to a close, 2,900 rockets had been fired at Israelis from Gaza.

And then, on December 24 and 25, Hamas stepped up the attacks and began using rockets with greater range to reach cities beyond Sderot, for the first time unleashing long-range Grad-type 122-mm Katyusha rockets on the cities of Ashdod and Yavneh, which is only 15 kilometers from Tel Aviv.

With no choice but to finally move to defend Israel’s southern cities, Israel moved swiftly and decisively, utilizing months of carefully gathered intelligence, to hit as many rocket sites within Gaza as quickly as possible.

Between the proverbial rock and a hard place, Israel is drawing both rocket fire from her enemies, as well as verbal fire from her detractors—the Arab world, the U.N., many media sources, and the list goes on!

Please, pray for the shalom (well-being/peace) of Jerusalem and Israel!
