pyramids in EgyptPrayers and Devotions for Passover Night Six The first Passover freed the Jewish People from slavery to Pharaoh in Egypt. Do you know that you were once a slave too? The Bible tells us we were formerly slaves to sin (Romans 6:6 NASB), but now that we have placed our faith in Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), we no longer serve the master of sin.

We have been given a new nature, the nature of Messiah. Though Yeshua died to set us free from slavery to sin, we still sin. Sometimes and in some areas, we may continue to obey sin as if it were still our master. Like an unchained circus elephant continues to rock back and forth as if his leg still bore the shackle of former years, we let sin hinder and limit us.

The good news is that Yeshua has set you free!

Are there any sins in your life that you feel captive to? Any weakness you tend to obey like a master? The good news is that Yeshua has set you free! The more each of us chooses to obey God rather than choose our own way and obey sin, the more we will come into the life and plans He designed for us. He has good plans for you, remember? His love for you never changes, remember? Obeying God helps us find His plans and know His love. Obeying God is the best thing for us!

Father, thank You that You are a good and pure Master. Through Yeshua, You have freed me from condemnation for my sin. Thank You that You want to free me from sin’s influence in my daily life as well. Thank You that Your way for me is the best plan for my life. Help me to trust You to daily free me from the snare of obeying sin. I want to obey You! Thank You, Yeshua!
