On Tuesday, Israel accepted an Egypt-brokered ceasefire call and stopped responding to missile attacks from Gaza. Yet the missiles from Gaza continued to fall. Hamas launched nearly 50 missiles at Israeli civilian targets during the daylight hours alone.

As a result, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was forced to resume Israeli Defense Force efforts to degrade Hamas’ ability to endanger Israeli civilians through missile launches.

As is often the case whenever Israel moves to defend herself, these efforts have sparked condemnation and anti-Semitism all over the world. This time, the hate is particularly troubling.

On Monday, a stone and club-wielding anti-Semitic mob tried to force its way into a Paris synagogue while worshippers were gathered there. In Paris’ heavily Muslim suburbs, people were heard chanting “slaughter the Jews,” and “death to the Jews.”

Over the last few days, we’ve witnessed a massive increase in people worldwide posting hateful messages to social media accompanied by the hashtag “#HitlerWasRight” or “#HitlerDidNothingWrong.” The levels of hatred and bile are truly astonishing—all because Israel is acting to defend herself.

Here at Jewish Voice Ministries, we’ve been encouraging all of our partners and friends to join us in praying for the people of Israel as the situation there becomes increasingly volatile and dangerous.

We are particularly burdened by what Israel’s children are experiencing right now. suncatcherIncessant air raid sirens and “Code Red” alerts that have had Israeli families scrambling into bomb shelters night and day have begun to take a psychological toll on even the most resilient of Israel’s adults. How much more must the children be traumatized?

Of course, we’ll keep you apprised of developments. Meanwhile, please remember that your gifts of support help make you a part of rallying support for Israel amid the rising tide of anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism that is sweeping the globe.

Please continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. And keep your connection to Jewish Voice strong. Your help allows us to provide greater support to ministries in Israel who are meeting needs and sharing the love of Yeshua with the Jewish People who are enduring such right now. As a way of showing our thanks for your contribution we’d like to send you the collection of gifts shown to the right. What we’re doing together is more important and more urgently needed than ever before.
