Here, centuries ago, John the Immerser prepared the way for Yeshua (Jesus).
Here, he cried out for people to “Turn! Turn to God and be immersed!”
With great anticipation, the crowds listened to John tell of One coming whose sandals he was not worthy to untie.
And then, one day, the earth along the Jordan River bowed in honor as it bore the feet of the approaching Messiah.
The Jordan’s gentle waters received The Holy One of Israel in immersion and saw the Spirit come down from heaven to rest upon Him. They heard the voice of God proclaim “This is My Son whom I love. With Him, I am well pleased!”
Here, on the banks of the Jordan, John pointed his disciples to Jesus saying, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

As I walked next to the Jordan River, it was like I could hear John calling out to everyone who walked by to repent and turn from their sins and turn to God! It was riveting. – Angela
