No doubt by now you’ve heard about the firestorm of controversy surrounding congresswomen Rashida Talib and Ilan Omar …

Talib is an American lawyer of Palestinian descent who serves as a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Michigan. Omar is an American of Somali descent elected to the United States House of Representatives for the State of Minnesota.

For weeks, they’ve been spewing anti-Semitic rhetoric and vitriol against Israel and Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, for barring them entry into Israel after they requested a “visit.” Including sharing tasteless, anti-Semitic cartoon tweets to their Twitter followers.

Both Talib and Omar (and other anti-Israel supporters) have accused the Israeli government of being weak because of its decision. Even calling into question the legitimacy of Israel’s own democracy.

I’m sure that’s also the viewpoint you’ve heard from mainstream media. But nothing could be further from the truth.

Get the House Blessing Mezuzah

This pewter mezuzah is engraved on both sides with gracious blessings for your home. Delicate ribbon-like designs highlight the words, “May God’s blessing rest upon this house and all who dwell within! May all who enter this house also be blessed!” Inside, the words of Deuteronomy 6:4-9 are printed in Hebrew on a parchment scroll. Measures 5” high.

This is what the mainstream media isn’t telling you

In reality, Talib and Omar have been outspoken in their hatred against Israel. In fact, as I shared with you recently, Omar was the central figure behind the attempt to push a Pro-BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) resolution through the House of Representatives.

Essentially the radical resolution would have delegitimized Israel’s very right to exist.

Omar has gone further by comparing her act of protest and boycott against Israel with the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa. And even the anti-Nazi protests.

Talib’s anti-Semitic comments earlier this summer were so staunch and severe, House Democrats initiated a resolution condemning anti-Semitism. And though it was watered down by the time it came to a vote, the fact that Talib’s comments even led to such a resolution is telling …

And while Talib and Omar pitched their visit to Israel under the guise of diplomacy, nothing in their itinerary indicated this “peaceful” intention. They had organized no meetings with any Israeli officials or politicians.

Let me restate that: In a proposed diplomatic visit to Israel, neither Talib nor Omar had scheduled any meetings with Israeli officials or politicians.

In fact, an official congressional Democratic delegation arrived in Israel just a week prior to their proposed visit – which included 41 House Democrats who not only met with Israelis, but also with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Yet they refused to join it. Claiming they wanted their own delegation.

The intention is clear … diplomacy wasn’t even a consideration

I think the handwriting on the wall is clear, both Talib and Omar intended their visit to be nothing more than a smear campaign against Israel. To use their time to stir up angst and anger among Israel’s detractors and enemies.

Israeli leaders saw the red flags. And they should be allowed to protect themselves – preventing the escalation of tensions that could have the potential for even more violence.

That’s one of the reasons behind the law Israeli officials invoked to deny Talib and Omar entry into Israel. More specifically, this law gives Israel the power to prevent foreign nationals who have publicly called for a boycott of the Jewish State or work on behalf of an organization that advocates these measures from entering Israel.

Israel has maintained its stance against Omar.

But in the midst of the firestorm, Israeli leaders agreed to allow Talib entry into the country to visit her 90-year-old grandmother, who lives in the village Beit Ur al-Fouqa, if she pledged not to engage in activities designed to undermine the country.

While Talib made her official request, and agreeing to restrictions, she later scorned Israel’s acceptance of her own request.

Again, I think her intention and the true purpose of her visit to Israel is clear. Though she claims her rejection of Israel’s acceptance is because her grandmother would not want her silenced in her fight against racism, oppression and injustice.

Which is exactly what she’s promoting against Israel and her people.

The enemy uses lies to try and destroy God’s people

This is the reality of Israel being surrounding by her enemies. And why she should be allowed to protect herself.

Both Talib and Omar accuse Israel of occupation, abuse and control. And while we know this is an utter lie, we shouldn’t be surprised.

This is the intention and mechanism the enemy has used for centuries to try and destroy God’s people. Why? Because Israel and her people play a major role in the Last Days leading up to the fulfillment of the entire world as part of God’s overall plan.

Whether it’s the lie Haman told King Xerxes in the book of Esther – that the Jewish people refused to obey the law of the land. Or in medieval Europe, when the Jewish people were accused of poisoning village wells. Or even the lies Hitler told about the Jewish people to promote his campaign of annihilation worldwide.

These are just more lies – and an utter avoidance of the truth. And many today are so quick to believe them.

As Believers in Yeshua, we have an obligation to stand with the Jewish people. To expose the lies. To stand for truth. And to pray for Israel.

And because I know you have a tremendous love for the Jewish people, I pray you’ll demonstrate that love and put it into action by giving a generous gift of support now.

We’d like to bless you for your generous gift

Everything we do is to provide critical support and resources to the Jewish people, and their neighbors, around the world. From providing clean water, medical and dental care and other humanitarian resources.

But we can’t do it without the generosity of supporters like you.
