My home is a little bit busier now. It has become an event center, an office and conference room, a school (high school and college), a playground, movie theatre and so much more. Not that long ago, most of these activities happened somewhere else. Almost every day is starting to look the same and all the activities are beginning to mix together into a symphony of busyness.
Make the most of your time because the days are evil. For this reason, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
But one day still stands out: Shabbat. Shabbat is still a time where we stop and rest in the Lord. The other activities are put on hold and our events center becomes our home again. We can take a deep breath and remember the Lord’s will for our life. Thankfully, even in this time of uncertainty we still know exactly, from the Word of God, what His will is.
Rejoice always, pray constantly, in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Messiah Yeshua.
—1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
His will for us hasn’t changed. He is not surprised by the challenges we are facing. His word is still the same today as it was four months ago. Even if your bedroom has become your office and your living room is now a classroom.
- Today, no matter how much it looks like yesterday, find small victories you can rejoice over, think of someone you can pray for, and something in your life you can be thankful for.
