“There is no end to the seventh day!”

One of our 80+ partner ministries in the Land has been observing Shabbat with their community — even in the midst of the war that erupted on October 7.

This observance has been more critical than ever...a time to reflect and to rest in God’s goodness and in the promises of His faithfulness.

Here’s what our partners had to say about this holy time of rest and reflection:

“Every Shabbat, our toddlers sing a song around the table — the lyrics are simple but true: ‘Who loves the Shabbat – mommy and daddy, grandma and grandad, me, you, and the whole wide world.’ The song ends with the thought-provoking question: why isn't every day Shabbat?

“And yet, in the creation story, there was evening and morning — the first day. Same for the second until the sixth day. But when the seventh day hits, it doesn’t reference that it ended. ‘Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done’ (Genesis 2:3).

“So we’re to rest in God’s goodness and His grace all the time! There is no end to His mercies, His goodness and His grace!”

Thank you for praying for and supporting our 80+ partners in Israel — giving families in the Land the space and opportunity to come together and celebrate Shabbat as a community.
