We cannot do this without YOU!

December 28, 2017

Here at Jewish Voice we have a very special milestone to celebrate: Your partnership has brought healing and hope to more than 1 million people!

Just think … a million people – more than the entire population of the modern city of Jerusalem – have received medical, dental or eye care; access to clean water; free eyeglasses; and spiritual encouragement in times of oppression.

But most important, in every case possible, and thanks to you, these people were introduced to the love and saving knowledge of Yeshua as their Messiah

It’s truly amazing how God has used YOU!

But even as we celebrate 1 million people blessed through our partnership with you and others, we look forward to something even bigger: the NEXT MILLION!

And that’s why I’m hoping you’ll stand with Jewish Voice during this traditional season of generosity by sending a special year-end gift before midnight on December 31

Your support will provide a wide range of humanitarian and spiritual help to Jewish people worldwide, especially those in remote and impoverished communities. The NEXT million!

In addition to physical care, you’ll also provide them an opportunity to receive prayer and hear the Good News of Yeshua, the Messiah.

But – again – we cannot do this without ongoing prayers and financial support from you and other caring partners.

Messianic Jewish Chanukah Devotional – 8th Night

December 19, 2017

The contrast between God’s holiness and the state of the desecrated Temple greatly disturbed the Israelites.

They earnestly desired to set things right and present to their Holy God a renewed and pure dwelling place for Him. Through the miracle of the oil, God Himself made it possible for His people to rededicate the Temple to Him.

Scripture tells us that we, as believers in Yeshua, are temples of God (1 Corinthians 6:19). His Spirit dwells within us. Chanukah entreats us to examine our hearts and, with awakened enthusiasm for the miracle of the Gospel, rededicate our lives to God. This Feast of Dedication beckons us to renew our commitment to following Him closely, trusting Him in all things, and letting Him transform us on deeper levels than ever before.

On this eighth night of Chanukah, we search our hearts before God who has given us so much, and we offer Him our whole lives afresh. We turn over to Him all that stands in the way of being wholly committed to Him and rededicate ourselves to faithfully follow Him.

Messianic Jewish Chanukah Blessings

Place eight candles in the chanukiah tonight, setting them in the holders from right to left. As you light the Servant Candle (Shamash), recite the Chanukah blessings:

Blessed are You, LORD, our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with Your commandments and has given us Yeshua the Messiah, the light of the world.

Blessed are You, LORD, our God, King of the universe, who has performed miracles for our ancestors in those days at this time.

Candle Lighting

Using the Servant Candle, light the Chanukah candles in the opposite direction from which you placed them in the holders. Light them from left to right. Return the Shamash to its place. Let the candles go out on their own; they should burn for a least half an hour.

Scripture Readings

“He exists before everything, and in Him all holds together. He is the head of the body, His community. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He might come to have first place in all things…” (Colossians 1:17-18 TLV).

“So when they had brought the boats to the landing, they left everything and followed Him” (Luke 5:11 TLV).

“Commit your way to Adonai. Trust in Him…” (Psalm 37:5 TLV).

Prayer

Faithful Father, even when our devotion to You is inconsistent, You never waver in Your commitment to us. You have given us freedom and life! Help us to trust You more fully and follow You more steadfastly. We rededicate ourselves to You now, knowing there are no better hands in which we could rest. Thank You for this Chanukah season, when we can celebrate Yeshua, the Light of the World, and the victory He won for us. Thank You, Father, for making the way for us to know Your transforming love. Draw us ever closer as we dedicate ourselves afresh to You.

Like a shepherd, He tends His flock. He gathers the lambs in His arms carries them in his bosom, and gently guides nursing ewes. Isaiah 40:11

December is a time for celebrating, especially Chanukah (the Feast of Dedication) and the birth of Yeshua Ha-Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah).

Here at Jewish Voice we have something else – a very special milestone – to celebrate: Your partnership has brought healing and hope to more than 1 million people!

Many have been Jewish people, including Holocaust survivors, the elderly and impoverished and descendants of the ancient tribes of Israel.

It’s truly amazing how God has used YOU!

But even as we celebrate 1 million people blessed through our partnership with you and others, we look forward to something even bigger: the NEXT MILLION!

As God gives us new opportunities and resources – and with your wonderful partnership – we expect to bring healing and hope to a million MORE people struggling in great need in the years ahead. Starting NOW!

Messianic Jewish Chanukah Devotional – 7th Night

December 18, 2017

Everything in the Temple attested to God’s holiness and purity. That’s why the desecration of His dwelling place was so grievous. Even the oil burning in the menorah had to be pure and consecrated.

The presence of idols in His holy Temple along with false worship and impure sacrifices was so offensive to the Israelites that they were eager to make things right. When there wasn’t enough oil to last more than one day, God affirmed the desire of His people to honor Him, and He provided the way. He made one day of oil last eight days, the amount of time required for more to be purified.

No one is pure enough to be in God’s presence. But He provided the way. He sent His Son Yeshua (Jesus) to die in our place and exchange our guilt for His righteousness. Because of Yeshua’s pure sacrifice, we have fellowship with the God of Israel, the God who is Love and Light Himself (1 John 1:5, 4:8).

This is the Good News, the best news. It never gets old because the richness of God’s love and mercy are so deep that new encounters with them await us every day.

On this seventh night of Chanukah, we thank God for His goodness and purity, and we express our gratitude that he provided the way for us to know Him, through His Son, Yeshua.

Messianic Jewish Chanukah Blessings

Place seven candles in the chanukiah tonight, setting them in the holders from right to left.

Let the candles go out on their own. They should burn for a least half an hour.

Scripture Readings

“Holy, holy, holy, is Adonai-Tsvaot! The whole earth is full of His glory” (Isaiah 6:3 TLV).

“But now God’s righteousness apart from the Torah has been revealed, to which the Torah and the Prophets bear witness – namely, the righteousness of God through putting trust in Messiah Yeshua, to all who keep on trusting. For there is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:21-23 TLV).

“So then, through the transgression of one, condemnation came to all men. Likewise, through the righteousness of One came righteousness of life to all men” (Romans 5:18 TLV).

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15 TLV).

Prayer

Holy Father, thank You for wanting us so much that You provided the way for us to be with You. Thank You, Yeshua, for offering Your purity as a sacrifice for our sin so that we could draw near to the Most Holy God. May we dedicate ourselves to living for You and letting our light shine so that others will glorify and worship You.

Messianic Jewish Chanukah Devotional – 6th Night

December 17, 2017

God used the Maccabees to take back His Temple for Himself and His people.

The Temple was where God dwelled, and where the Israelites drew near to His presence. When there was not enough oil to keep the menorah lit, He provided it through a miracle. When one day’s oil burned for eight days, He enabled Israel to once again come into His presence. God made the way.

Through His promised Messiah, Yeshua – the Light of the World – God provided the way for each of us to draw near to Him in fellowship and forgiveness. While we were inadequate, Yeshua died for us (Romans 5:8).

God provides for us daily as well. He meets our needs, fills us with His love and nurtures and matures us into the likeness of His Son. He equips us with everything required to enjoy His presence and live honoring lives before Him.

On this sixth night of Chanukah, we reflect on God’s deep love that compelled Him to provide the way for us to be with Him.

Messianic Jewish Chanukah Blessings

Place six candles in the chanukiah tonight, setting them in the holders from right to left.

Let the candles go out on their own, and they should burn for a least half an hour.

Scripture Readings

“He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how shall He not also with Him freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32 TLV).

“My God will fulfill every need of yours according to the riches of His glory in Messiah Yeshua” (Philippians 4:19 TLV).

“Whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies. So in all things may God be glorified through Messiah Yeshua – all glory and power to Him forever and ever! Amen” (1 Peter 4:11 TLV).

Prayer

Jehovah Jireh – My Provider – thank You for all that You have given us. You are a giving God. You meet our needs and lavish us with Your love. You sent Your Son to make the way for us to come into Your holy presence forgiven and declared righteous. Thank You! May we never take that for granted. May the Gospel always be fresh and good news to us each day. Thank You!
