Every year on the first Sunday in October, hundreds of millions of people from well over 100 nations around the world follow the mandate of Psalm 122:3 to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. This day, which falls on October 2 this year, began 14 years ago with key political and religious leaders meeting together. Across the nations, it has become a huge movement of prayer for the peace of Jerusalem.
The evening of “The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem” falls on another significant occasion this year – Erev Rosh Hashanah, or the Eve of the Head of the Jewish New Year. Rabbis of the past designated Rosh Hashanah as the start of the year because they believed it was the day God created the world. This New Year will be 5777, which is already being called “The Year of the Sword” in some circles. May it be a year when we as Believers take up the Sword of the Spirit with fresh dedication and a new authority!
Lord, what better way to move from 5776 to 5777 than praying for the Peace of Jerusalem and the awakening of the Jewish people around the world to a personal knowledge of Yeshua! Help us discern the signs of the times and be diligent to not fear, but pray! In Yeshua’s name, AMEN.

In this article, we drill down a few layers to discover that what we really want out of life is common to us all. For some, having these deep desires and needs met is just wishful thinking. But for Believers in Jesus, we have the assurance that God can meet those desires like no one or nothing else can. And the road to their fulfillment runs right through His Word.

When is “not-enough” enough? When the Lord steps in and makes up the difference.
