Hope-Filled Inbox: Stories from Ukraine Ministry Partners

In today’s generation, not many countries have experienced the devastation of war on their own soil that Ukrainians are facing as I write this to you. Buildings sit demolished to ruins and bloodshed mingles with the cries of children and mothers leaving their fathers and husbands behind to fight for their beloved country, not knowing if these will be their final goodbyes.

Working at Jewish Voice brings daily emails to my inbox from our ministry partners in Ukraine about the dire circumstances their countrymen are facing. The needs seem insurmountable, but these ministries are there, on the ground in Ukraine, reaching many desperate Jewish people and their neighbors with practical aid, and most importantly, with the Good News of Jesus (Yeshua) their Messiah.

With God’s help, and the generous resources that you provide, these ministries are being the hands and feet of Yeshua. They’re providing humanitarian aid and ministering to their Ukrainian brothers and sisters who are troubled in spirit, yes, but readier than ever before to hear the Good News. The Lord is doing a new thing through our partners by delivering the hope of Messiah out of the rubble and revealing His beauty from the ashes of rocket fire.

The Lord is using a long-time partner congregation in Kiev for just this mission. Leaders and members pack up their cars to deliver food kits, medical supplies, and hygiene products to thousands in their neighborhoods. They’re also helping clean up their war-torn streets. As they do, they administer a kind word and prayer, reflecting the light of Yeshua in the midst of the darkness. Clearing the streets from shrapnel and bombing debris is a welcome help to these people. More importantly, these partners are clearing paths to hearts that are open to hearing about the Way, the Truth and the Life! Providing food to these hungry people helps meet their basic needs, but satisfying their spiritual hunger has eternal, Kingdom impact!

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

— John 6:35

One new Messianic congregation in Lviv sponsored a charitable concert to help the Ukraine army. Worship is their weapon – and a new banner of praise is rising over Ukraine, urging many to seek our God Most High who delivers those who love Him and know His name. One hundred (100) guests attended the concert, and the congregation is now following up with attendees to build and deepen relationships. We thank God for this open door to share Yeshua’s name with them!
