Jewish Voice exists to do three things: to proclaim the Gospel to the Jew first (Romans 1:16), grow the Messianic Jewish community, and engage the Church concerning Israel and the Jewish people. These three enduring mandates serve as guideposts within which every ministry activity we undertake must fit.
God promised to scatter Israel to the “four corners of the earth.” But he also promised to bring them back. We can join that effort!
When you think of a “Jewish person,” what comes to mind?
Perhaps there’s a synagogue in your community. Maybe you’ve seen Jewish families walking there together. Many orthodox Jewish men and women wear black clothing or may wear “payos” — long sideburns that curl near their ears.
I am a tranquil place with serene paths and rugged, gnarled trees many hundreds of years old. Some people like to think my trees may have been standing even when Jesus walked around me.
I remember Him coming to me often with His disciples. I provided them a quiet place when they visited Jerusalem.
One Passover night, all but one of them came. I watched as eight stayed together in one area and three followed Jesus a little bit away.
A watershed is a point of dramatic change dividing something into clear “before” and “after” identities. A watershed event or moment alters a subject’s trajectory.
Purim – by ancient Jewish decree – is a party. It’s not one of the Jewish Feasts commanded by the Lord, but the book of Esther proclaims Purim is a celebration to be observed throughout all Jewish generations (Esther 9:28).
